It takes just a few steps to setup Heartland Retail integration with Accumula. For successful integration, be sure to perform each step in order. Before authorizing Accumula to connect, we will start by configuring Custom Fields in Heartland.
- Review & Add Required Item Custom Fields
Accumula supports complete publish and update of Product Info from Heartland to your other systems. To ensure the needed fields are present, navigate in Heartland to Settings > Custom Fields and make sure the following Custom Fields are present on Items. If the Custom Field does not exist, please create it:
Required Fields: Shopify Translation: Create field: Definition: Color Color The color variant option in your grid Size Size The size variant option in your grid Third Attribute 3 (as needed) X The third attribute option in your grid. Typically the width of a shoe, additional accent, etc. Tags Tags X The field used to add the Accumula tag to your products indicating which products will push to Shopify. This can be used to push additional product tags to Shopify as well. Weight Weight The weight of the product. While you do not have to enter the weight in Heartland to create the item. Accumula needs this field for mapping purposes. Price Compare at Price This is typically the Original Price field in Heartland which would be used as the compare at price in Shopify. Online Price Price This is typically the Current Price filed in Heartland. If you wish to have separate pricing in store versus online, you may create a custom field for Online Price if needed.
Optional Fields: Shopify Translation: Definition: Brand Brand This is typically the primary Default Vendor from Heartland which can also be interpreted as Manufacturer. Category Type This translates to Type in Shopify UPC Barcode This translates to Barcode in Shopify Short Description Title By default, Accumula maps to the Heartland title of a grid or item. If you wish to use the same description in Heartland and Shopify you can skip this step, this field is for the online title in Shopify. It can be helpful if you need a different title in Shopify compared to the description you use in Heartland.
Be sure to "Allow all values" for each Custom Field. We recommend leaving all setting switches to Off. -
Review your Grid and Item DataIf you wish items to appear as options on the same Product page, the items should be setup in a Grid. More info about attribute mapping item setup can be found here:

IMPORTANT: If connecting to an existing Ecommerce store, Accumula will match your Heartland Item # to existing products in your other systems and automatically tag your products to publish/sync. Please refer to Existing Shopify Stores or Existing Magento Stores before turning on your Shopify or Magento Integration. This step is critical.
-
Add Tags to Grids and ItemsIf you have a new Ecommerce store with no products in it, be sure that all items you want published in your Ecommerce system have either the "accumula" tag applied in the Tags field. This includes both Grids and Single Items. You can also add other tags you wish to integrate at this time including Accumula feature tags like Hidden or Instock.
Heartland provides a handy way to update Tags in bulk using Heartland's Import/Update Feature. You may also want to add Tags in Heartland representing other fields such as Department or Season. This is a flexible way to organize and manage data in Ecommerce.
TIP: Adding a tag to a Grid will automatically add the Tag to all Items in the Grid.
