The Flash Inventory feature helps ensure your inventory is respected during high-volume Event Sales or Product Releases. This feature is Available on our OMNI Plan.
We recommend using this feature whenever you expect a high-volume sales period online. You can find this setting in Apps > Shopify > Multistore.
When Flash Inventory is enabled, inventory will temporarily stop updating products to Shopify. This prevents inventory issues from occurring due to the timing of orders and inventory downloading to/from point of sale and ensures that online inventory and order routing is accurate.
The flash sale workflow looks like this:
- Turn ON Flash Inventory 15-30 minutes before your sale starts.
- Sell the h&$^ out of your store
- Turn OFF Flash Inventory after orders from the high-volume period download to point of sale by pressing the RESUME SYNC button.
- Resume Sync- When the RESUME SYNC button is pressed, all point of sale inventory that has been sold or updated in the last 24 hours will be resynced to ensure that all online inventory is correct and sync will resume.
You can use Flash Inventory together with our Omni Holdback feature to fully manage in-store availability to ensure that every piece of your release inventory doesn't sell through online.
