Each product in Magento can be assigned a Special Price. This is generally used to show a product as “On Sale”. In many cases, entering a Special Price will display the Special Price compared to the Regular Price. Handy for increasing conversion rates from your shoppers.
The Set Price and Set Special Price settings are found in Apps > Magento > Upload. These settings determine which pricing levels from point of sale will map to Price and Special Price in Magento. These settings give you control over Sale Pricing in Magento and includes pricing logic. Special Price should always be the Lower Price.
Typically if Price and Special Price are the same, no sale pricing will appear. If Price equals 0, or is less than Special Price, Special Price will appear in Price.
