With Accumula's Growth Plan your integration allows you to assign multiple Magento categories to products right from within Point of Sale. You can save even more time by doing the category assignments via bulk product updates.
Note: Multiple Categories are not currently supported when integrating with Heartland Retail.
Enabling Multiple Categories
Accumula Support will need to enable access to this feature before it can be toggled on or off in an account. Support for Multiple Categories was not included in some older subscriptions and may require a new subscription.
The settings toggle for Multiple Categories is found by navigating to Apps > Magento > Advanced. If this setting is grayed out and asks you to "Upgrade to Advanced Magento Now!" please contact Accumula Support for assistance with enabling the feature.
Adding Multiple Categories to Products
Integrating multiple categories uses product notes in Lightspeed to hold additional category information. When enabled, the product categories will be assigned to the matching product in Magento in addition to any category assignments in product notes.
Locating Product Notes
In Lightspeed Onsite Product Notes are located on the Notes tab of the product card for Single, Matrix, and Matrix Child products.
In Lightspeed Retail Product Notes are located at the bottom of the "Item" Details page for Single and Matrix Items.
Important: Lightspeed Retail Matrices do not have notes so their associated configurable cannot be associated to multiple categories.
Category Formatting
Important Considerations
- You will not be able to use this feature along with any other product notes.
- Your integration will attempt to match by name to any existing categories in Magento first. If any level of the category assignment does not exist, the integration will create a new category.
- Three category levels are supported.
The additional category designations must be the only thing in the product's notes field and must be formatted exactly as follows:
- TopCategory
- TopCategory.FirstSubcategory
- TopCategory.FirstSubcategory.SecondSubcategory
When entering multiple category assignments into the Notes field, each entry must be separated by a comma.
Note: Entries are NOT case sensitive.
Additional categories must include all top level and sub-categories above the sub-category to ensure that the category is accurately assigned. You need only use the category levels that the assignment requires from the Category Tree.
Examples
Case Sensitivity
- Mens.Jackets.Wool, Electronics.Speakers, Womens.Jackets.Hoodies, Televisions
Would sync the same as:
- mens.jackets.wool, electronics.speakers, womens.jackets.hoodies, televisions
Bulk Category Assignment
Bulk assignments can be performed by updating the product Notes field using Lightspeed Import Tools for Lightspeed Onsite or Data Tools for Lightspeed Retail.
