Adding items to your Ecommerce platform can be done by using our item import template with DataTools.
We recommend referring to our articles on updating or importing new items to ensure the import process goes smoothly.
IMPORTANT! You will be importing to your active Lightspeed Retail database. Lightspeed Retail does not have a backup function, so be sure that all of your data is prepared properly before importing. Check it 3 times and run an export before importing. We urge you to do a small test of 2-3 products before performing a large import.
In addition to the requirements from the links provided above, Ecommerce enabled products need to have the following:
- Matrix Group Name - Items that are part of a ItemMatrix should include the Matrix Name in the Matrix Group Name column. This will ensure that all Ecommerce fields are inherited by the ItemMatrix
- Short Web Description - Each item to be sold in Shopify should have a Short Web Description. This must be unique per product and can generally be copied from the item Description.
- Long Web Description - Each item should have a good Long Web Description.
Accumula Tag - Each item to be sold in Ecommerce must have "accumula" included in the Tags column. If creating items using DataTools, we recommend adding the "accumula" tag in an update after the products are created.
NOTE: Do not use the Sell on Webstore column as Lightspeed Retail does not read this reliably.
