Your Channels for Mac app is having a problem connecting to Lightspeed Onsite at Storename. Please restart the computer hosting Lightspeed Server to correct the issue.
Channels sends this error whenever it is unable to connect to your Lightspeed Onsite Server for more than 10 minutes. Channels is trying to connect, but the Lightspeed server has not responded.
This error is usually caused by:
- The server computer entering sleep mode
- A lost internet connection
- The server computer being turned off
- Lightspeed Server becoming unresponsive
- Lightspeed Server is not on port 9630
- Lightspeed Server is not running
If you receive this message multiple times, it is likely that the computer is either off or in sleep mode.
Upgrading Lightspeed Server
When upgrading Lightspeed Onsite from version 2.0 or earlier to version 2.1 or later, some major API changes are made by Lightspeed Onsite. This will make the server unresponsive to Channels. Please notify support if you've upgraded Lightspeed recently.
Never Sleep
The Server computer should always be left on and set to never sleep.
Sleep settings can be found in the Server computers System Preferences>Energy Saver

Multistore Replication
Users with multiple stores can set a replication schedule in Lightspeed Onsite. Scheduled replication can put a heavy strain on the Lightspeed Server and make the Lightspeed API unresponsive for more than an hour. We recommend if using a replication schedule that it is set to no more often than 24 hours apart, and to run at night.
Advanced Reporting
Users can enable Advanced Reporting in Lightspeed Onsite. We have found cases where enabling Advanced Reporting without a Subscription, or running it too often, can make Lightspeed's API unresponsive. You can make sure Advanced Reporting is off, or running less often, by navigating in Lightspeed to Tools > Advanced Reporting.
