Most Ecommerce Solutions do not support selling serialized inventory, but you can sell serialized products in your Online Store using our Serialized Products feature. This feature is automatic whenever a product that is serialized in Lightspeed is sold online.
Whenever a product that is serialized in Lightspeed Onsite is sold online, the line item on the order or invoice in Lightspeed will be replaced with the Channels Serial Number Needed placeholder product. The product SKU and any other information received from your Online Store will be placed in the line item description.
Your staff can then replace the Channels Serial Number Needed placeholder product on your Lightspeed order or invoice with the correct product in Lightspeed. While adding the correct product you may apply a serial number from your inventory.
Invoices with the Channels Serial Number Needed product on them can be easily found using a Smart Find. If you have any questions about setting up Smart Finds please contact our support team.
