Every 3 minutes, Channels begins a new sync between systems. The Connector downloads any Orders from Shopify that are more recent than the last sync and updates any Product whose Modified Date is more recent that the last Sync.
LightSpeed Pro will be the master source for all of your product data. Uploading a Product is accomplished by checking “Sell on Web Store” and pressing Save on the Product card. During the next sync cycle, the Channels Connector uploads any new products to the Channels Cloud for upload to Shopify.
Modified Products and Updates
The Connector filters modified Products by timestamp in order to determine which Products need to be updated in Shopify. Whenever a Product Card is Saved or Import Tools is used to Update Products, LightSpeed Pro updates the Modified DateTime of the Product and the Connector knows to update the product in Shopify.
Each time a product is sold or returned, the Connector updates that product’s inventory in Shopify automatically. As a safety each night, the Connector updates the Inventory of all products in Shopify automatically. Since LightSpeed’s API does not have access to Inventory changes, this ensures that received, reserved, or adjusted inventory is updated.
New Orders created in Shopify are downloaded as Invoices into LightSpeed Pro. This ensures that the Order impacts Inventory immediately. This results in tighter inventory control and faster fulfillment. Each Invoice includes products for Shipping, Discounts, Taxes, etc.
All Shopify orders can be quickly located using Smart Finds in the LightSpeed Invoice list. LightSpeed Pro Invoices include all line items from Shopify as well as shipping charges, promo discounts, and taxes, if applicable. Shopify Order, Payment, and Shipping information are also included in the Invoice Notes for reference.
