Step 1: Enable Web Store Fields
If your store is in North America and the Web Store Tab is not visible in the Item Detail Screen, please contact the Accumula Support Team who will request the Web Store fields be enabled on your behalf. This will enable the Ecommerce fields for Items and Item Matrices in Lightspeed Retail including Short Description, Long Description, and Weight.
Note: You do NOT need a Lightspeed Ecom or Webstore subscription.
Note: Lightspeed Retail does not support Web Store fields outside of North America. For users outside of North America the Item Matrix or Item Description will be mapped to the Shopify Product Title by default. The Shopify Description must be managed in Shopify.
Step 2: Setup Default Sales Taxes for Each Shop
Before completing any further setup, please make sure that each Shop in your account has a default Sales Tax.
- Navigate in Lightspeed to Settings > Shop Setup.
- In Each Shop's Settings: Select a Sales Tax and press save.
Important: A default Sales Tax of "None" will not work. Selecting the "No Tax" Sales Tax you create in the next step as your Shop's default will work if you need to select a 0% default tax.
Step 3: Setup Sales Taxes
Once this is complete, Navigate to Settings > Sales Taxes > Tax Rates and create a new Sales Tax called "No Tax" with a rate of 0% then follow instructions for your region of the world.
Shopify users in the United States can use Match on Tax Rate mode, and need no further Lightspeed tax setup.
For all other users, the name of your Sales Taxes must match the Tax Rate Name in your Ecommerce solution (see Shopify - Match On Tax Code Name or Magento - Match on Tax Code Name).
American Stores not using Shopify - Be sure you have Sales Tax setup for each State you have a brick and mortar location in. The name of your Sales Tax must match the Tax Rate Name in your Ecommerce solution.
Canadian Stores - Be sure you have a unique Sales Tax setup for each Province individually (ie. AB, BC, QC, etc). The name of your Sales Tax and Tax Rate must match the Tax Rate Name and Tax Rate in your Ecommerce solution.
International Stores - The name of your Sales Tax must match the Tax Rate Name in your Ecommerce solution.
Taxes as a Line Item Mode - Taxes as a Line Item mode provides more exact tax calculation but more complicated reporting. You can change the Tax Mode in Accumula to "Taxes as a Line Item" and then create a Sales Tax in Lightspeed called "Shopify Taxes"(or "Magento Taxes", if you using Magento) and "No Tax" with a 0% tax rate. If you have Pro Plan or above, you may set Shopify to calculate taxes automatically in Shopify.
IMPORTANT: If connecting to an existing Ecommerce store, refer to Existing Shopify Stores or Existing Magento Stores before turning on your Shopify or Magento Integration.
NOTE: "shopify", "webstore", or "magento" tags will also work, but do not add more than one of these tags. You can bulk add tags using Accumula Data Tools, as needed (ItemMatrice update via Data Tools - see more here).
IMPORTANT: Existing Stores be sure to double-check this, items and itemmatrices not tagged with webstore or shopify may result in existing products and variants being removed or hidden from your Ecommerce store.
NOTE: If you have multiple Shop Locations in Lightspeed Retail but are only integrating inventory and orders with one Lightspeed Shop, you must also set the Master Store setting when autorizing. If Multistore Order Routing is enabled, Sales will be downloaded into Locations based on Store Priority and Inventory Availability.
Once other apps are enabled, data will start flowing in your integrations. Accumula will publish any items and itemmatrices set to "Sell on Web" to your Ecommerce store. Existing products and variants will be matched to your items and itemmatrices in Lightspeed and updated based on your settings.
