Item Matrices in Lightspeed Retail play an important role in integrations so take care to use them as needed when creating new items. ECommerce integrations depend heavily on item matrices to create products in the correct configuration. Based on the type of item matrix (size, color, size/color, or 3 attributes), items may be created differently in the destination system. Items that are not part of an item matrix will also have different settings in the destination system. Here are a few examples:
If your items are not setup in item matrices in Lightspeed Retail, Accumula will attempt to match to existing products by CustomSKU. If no match is found, a new product will be created with the attributes of a single item.
NOTE: Lightspeed Retail does not correctly update tags on matrix items when they are updated on the item matrix. Be sure to press Save on each matrix item individually when making changes to tags.
Accumula's built-in DataTools allow you to create and update item matrices. You can also assign existing items to an item matrix.
A unique description and/or web short description is recommended for single items and item matrices. Some integrations, like Shopify, rely on the description or web short description to match products. Unique descriptions also help customers recognize products.
NOTE: "Web Short Description" becomes the "Product Title" in Shopify. If no web short description exists, the "Description" will be used instead.
CustomSKU is recommended for each of your items. Some integrations rely on the SKU field and will not function properly without it. Be sure that each item has a unique CustomSKU. CustomSKU is essential when matching Lightspeed Retail to existing Shopify stores.
IMPORTANT: If you are integrating to an existing system that already has inventory, the Lightspeed Retail CustomSKU will match to the SKU in that system to link. If the CustomSKU and SKU do not match, a duplicate product may be created.
The Accumula tag is required for each of your items and itemmatrices to sync to eCommerce integrations. Be sure you have applied the "accumula" tag to all products you desire published online. The "shopify" tag will have the same effect, as will "webstore" or "magento".
NOTE: Lightspeed has instructed users to avoid using the "Sell on Web Store" checkbox as this has been proven to not work properly.
