In your Accumula integration, the point of sale acts as the master source for product and inventory data. When products are first published, all product data, including images, is sent. On successive syncs, only the attributes set to update are updated. If you are on Basic Plan, the Product settings are not adjustable.
New Store vs Existing Store Presets
Each Accumula account is set with a preset based on the information you provided during signup. There are two different presets for new accounts: one for Existing Stores, one for New Stores. Existing Stores are set to update only Price and Inventory Quantity to protect against data being overwritten in your Existing Shopify Store. New Stores are set as you see below.
The presets for New and Existing Stores are as follows:
Shopify Products Tab
The Shopify Products Tab in your Accumula settings provides control over product attributes and options. Each switch corresponds to a Product or Variant attribute in Shopify and controls whether that attribute updates. The screenshots featured here are based on the settings for New Stores. Please refer to the Product and Variant Mapping page for more information about mapping between systems.
Shopify Product Update Settings
Product data flows from point of sale to Shopify. When the setting for the attribute is On, the data in point of sale will continue to update in Shopify on subsequent syncs.
If you desire to manage an attribute manually in Shopify, set the update setting to Off for that attribute.
*These settings are recommended to be on for basic integration functionality.
†These settings tend to be temporary settings to account for mass adjustments or unique workflows in mind.
Recommended adjustments to Update Settings
In order to ensure the fastest sync possible, we recommend making the following adjustments to the update settings:
- Update Images is Off - Images take the most data bandwidth and the most time to sync. By leaving Update Images Off, your sync times are as fast as possible. We recommend always keeping Update Images Off.
- Update Description is Off - Ensures that you can utilize Shopify's more complete formatting tools to format your Descriptions in Shopify without worry that changes will be overwritten.
