Your point of sale acts as the source for product and inventory data sent to Shopify. When Accumula creates a product in Shopify all supported product fields including images are sent. Subsequent updates to products are dictated by your Accumula settings.
Accumula Plan and Settings
By default in all new accounts only inventory quantities are updated on Shopify products and variants.
Note: Shopify SKUs are the primary reference for updates and are always updated when products/variants sync.
Some older plans may have had different initial settings configurations. Settings can be configured on Connect Plus, Scale, and some previous plan levels. Some examples include:
- Basic or Starter Plan - All settings enabled by default. Product settings are not configurable.
- Startup, Pro, Growth, or Premium Plan - Settings configured during account onboarding. Product settings are configurable.
Please contact our support team if you'd like to make a change to your account to allow custom configuration of product settings.
Shopify Products Tab
For accounts with configurable settings the Shopify Products tab in your Accumula dashboard is where you can make changes. Each switch corresponds to a product or variant attribute in Shopify and controls whether that attribute is updated by Accumula.
Please refer to the Product and Variant Mapping page for more information about how fields are mapped from your point of sale to Shopify.
Shopify Product Update Settings
Product data flows from point of sale to Shopify. When the setting for an attribute is enabled then saved the data in your point of sale will continue to transfer to Shopify whenever the product or variant is synced.
If you prefer to manage a field manually in Shopify, set the update setting to off for that attribute. Many businesses choose to manage descriptions, product visibility, and images in Shopify.
*These settings are recommended to be on for basic integration functionality.
†These settings tend to be used temporarily to manage mass adjustments or unique workflows.
Recommended adjustments to Update Settings
In order to ensure the fastest sync possible we recommend the following configurations for these update settings:
- Update Images Off - Images take the most data bandwidth and the most time to sync.
- Update Description Off - Most businesses prefer to utilize Shopify's more complete formatting tools in Shopify without worry that changes will be overwritten by the integration.
