When planning your Lightspeed Onsite upgrade please be sure to coordinate with Accumula prior to upgrading. Making changes before coordinating with our team can take your integration offline temporarily.
Versions of Lightspeed that have made major changes to their API and require special handing include:
- Onsite 1.0
- Onsite 2.1
- Onsite 2016 1.0
- Onsite 2018
For Users on Lightspeed Onsite 2018
Accumula has confirmed with Lightspeed's API Support team that the Onsite 2018 API requires TLS 1.2 to connect. TLS 1.2 support is not included in the default installation of MacOS prior to MacOS High Sierra. Our team considers the easiest, safest, and most direct way to ensure your server supports TLS 1.2 is to upgrade to MacOS High Sierra.
For Users on Lightspeed Onsite 2019
MacOS Mojave 10.14.x is required.
MacOS Catalina and Mojave
There is a small chance that when updating MacOS the "Goodworks Daemon" user which the integration uses will lose permissions required for it to function.
After upgrading MacOS or reinstalling Channels for Mac on these versions of MacOS navigate to System Preferences > Channels to confirm the integration remains connected after the update completes.
If the integration doesn't appear to connect successfully please navigate in MacOS to System Preferences > Users & Groups. Ensure the "Goodworks Daemon" has the checkbox for "Allow user to administer this computer" checked.
If it is checked and you still experience a connection issue please contact our Support Team.
General Upgrade Steps
Upgrading your server computer will consist of the following:
- Stop Channels for Mac.
- Backup Lightspeed.
- Run all necessary updates.
- The last step is starting Channels for Mac once all updates have been completed.
- Check the status of your sync at Accumula.co: Accumula Status Page How to view Connector Status
- If Channels fails to connect, please proceed with steps 4 & 5 from this document: Uninstalling Channels App/ Installing Channels App
