Accumula provides complete integration of inventory to Shopify, more than just updating inventory quantities. Accumula can also match your point of sale products to products in an existing Shopify Store.
Inventory data flows from point of sale to Shopify, with point of sale acting as Inventory Master. Publish full inventory data from your point of sale just by adding the "accumula" tag in the point of sale. Accumula integrates Shopify with the following Point of Sale systems:
Important Product/Variant Fields
Product Title
The Shopify Product Title is the primary key for identifying Products in Shopify. It is best to give each product a unique title so that your listings are easy to manage. Product Title is normally mapped from the Web Short Description in the point of sale. If no Web Short Description is available, Accumula will substitute the Product Description from the master system.
Product Description
The Shopify Product Description is critical for engaging with shoppers. The description should give your customer all the info they need to decide if the product is right for them. Be sure to include info about materials and special features, or even a story; the more creative, the better. Imagine what your team might say to a customer in conversation on your retail floor. 87% of shoppers find the Description to be critical in their decision.
Variant SKU
The Shopify Variant SKU is the primary key for identifying Variants in Shopify. Variant SKU is mapped from four possible SKU Sources in point of sale. These may be the CustomSKU/Product Code, Product ID, Manufacturer SKU, or UPC.
Note: Heartland only supports SKU Source of Item # or UPC.
Matrices
Matrices play an important role in online merchandising. Generally, products that have multiple options should be setup in a matrix in point of sale. You may wish to organize products with multiple color options into their own matrices (ie. red x small, medium, large; blue x small, medium, large, etc).
Images should be assigned to the matrix. Depending on what the Point of Sale solution supports, Accumula will send images assigned to the matrix and one image from each child matrix item, in case the items are different color variations.
Accumula Tag/Sell on Webstore Box
For Lightspeed Retail: Each Item or Matrix that you wish to publish to Shopify must be tagged with "accumula", "shopify", "webstore", or "online".
For Lightspeed Onsite: Each Product or Matrix that you wish to publish to Shopify must have the "Sell on Webstore" box checked.
For Heartland: One of the supported tags is required for each of your items and grids to sync to Ecommerce. Be sure you have applied the "accumula" tag to the Tags field of all grids and single items you desire published online. The "shopify", "webstore", and "online" tag will have the same effect.

Integrating Existing Shopify Stores
When integrating an existing Shopify Store with point of sale, Accumula can match your existing products in both systems so that a store reset is not required. To accurately match, it is essential that the following data matches before authorizing Shopify to connect:
- Product, Items, Grids, and Matrices must be tagged with "accumula", "shopify", "online" or "webstore" (Lightspeed Retail, or Heartland) or have the "Sell on Webstore" box checked (Lightspeed Onsite).
- Shopify Variant SKU match the POS SKU Source.
- Multi-variant Shopify Products and Items must be setup in matrices in POS.
If data does not match exactly, Duplicate products will be created in Shopify. More information on syncing to an existing store can be found here.
