Lightspeed Retail - Integrated Gift Cards

Accumula makes it possible to integrate your gift cards between Shopify and Lightspeed Retail. 

• Full Gift Card integration is available on Scale or Enterprise plans.
• Shopify only allows full Gift Card integration on Shopify Plus plans.

Scale Plan + Shopify Plus provides complete Omnichannel Gift Card support. You can sell Gift Cards Instore or Online.  New Gift Cards and balance updates will be synced automatically between point of sale and ecommerce in both directions. 

• Online Gift Cards will appear as normal Lightspeed Gift Cards on Sales, as a line item with a $0 price.
• Online Gift Card Payments will also show as a Gift Card payment on the downloaded Sale. No action needs to be taken to process these transactions in Lightspeed Retail.  
  
  

NOTE: When an Online Gift Card Sale is downloaded to Lightspeed Retail, the Shipping Name on the Ecommerce Order is attached to the Gift Card when it is created and a Lightspeed Retail compatible serial number is automatically assigned.

Payments will appear with a negative Gift Card payment if the Gift Card was sold and a positive Gift Card payment if the Gift Card was redeemed. This ensures that the price of the Gift Card is not recognized as revenue in Lightspeed until the Gift Card is redeemed.

Other Shopify Plans

If you use Shopify but don't want to use Shopify Plus gift cards are handled differently because Standard Shopify accounts do not allow API access to historic gift card records, manually issued gift cards, or gift card balance updates.  It's possible to configure a one way sync of gift cards sold on orders for reporting purposes, but balances will not be updated.

Connect and Connect Plus Gift Cards

On Connect and Connect Plus plan when gift cards are purchased on a Shopify order the order will download with a line item reference to a Shopify Gift Card Placeholder item with a price equal to the Gift Card amount.  If you want to allow customers to use their gift card in store instead of online first disable the Shopify gift card, and then exchange the placeholder in Lightspeed for a gift card by following the same process as Instore Gift Cards sold online for Lightspeed Retail.
