Enterprise (formerly Omni) Plan supports two-way Omni Gift Card sync between Online and Instore Gift Cards; allowing shoppers to redeem either online or instore. This is true omnichannel.
When Omni Gift Card support is Enabled, Accumula automatically manages the balance and status of Gift Cards between Shopify Plus and point of sale. Gift Cards can be purchased or redeemed online or instore.
Selling Omni Gift Cards in Shopify Plus
There are two primary workflows for selling Omni Gift Cards. In both cases, integration function is the same and Gift Card balances are synced between systems as they are redeemed. You may choose to use one or both of the following workflows with Omni Gift Cards to meet the needs of all shoppers.
1. Online Card - immediate delivery
Shopper purchases in Shopify and receives Virtual Gift Card immediately via email for use online. Requires Gift Card lookup to redeem instore.
2. Instore Card - a little slower - RECOMMENDED
Recipient receives physical Gift Card via Email and/or Shipment after processing. Requires serial number of a physical gift card be assigned in point of sale when card is first purchased. The same serial number will work both instore AND online, no lookup required.
Shopify hides all Gift Card Serial Numbers in Shopify. When a shopper purchases a Shopify Gift Card, only the shopper can see the Gift Card Serial Number. Using workflow #2 improves visibility for Gift Cards. For more info on processing Instore Gift Card Orders see:

Selling Omni Gift Cards in Point of Sale
When Enterprise (formerly Omni) Plan and Create/Update Shopify Gift Cards is enabled, whenever a Gift Card is sold in point of sale, a Gift Card is automatically created in Shopify Plus with a matching serial number. If Send Gift Card Notifications is On, Shopify Plus will also send an email notification encouraging the shopper to use the gift card online, as well.
Historical Gift Cards
When Omni Gift Card support is initially activated, Accumula Support will assist with the syncing of existing historical Gift Cards by downloading all existing Online Gift Cards from Shopify to point of sale then uploading historical Instore Gift Cards from point of sale to Shopify Plus.
Note: Shopify requires Gift Card serial numbers have 8 or more digits. Please contact Accumula Support if your historical Gift Cards contain fewer than 8 digits.
Gift Card Settings
The settings that control Gift Card functions can be found at Apps > Shopify > Gift Cards. Please contact your Accumula Rep to enable Gift Card functionality.
Create/Update Shopify Gift Cards - (Enterprise [formerly Omni] Plan) controls whether Gift Cards will be synced TO Shopify from point of sale. When first enabled, all existing Gift Cards will be synced to Shopify.
Send Gift Card Notifications - (Enterprise [formerly Omni] Plan) controls whether the customer associated to the Gift Card will receive an automatic notification that the Gift Card is created in Shopify. When set to On, the Customer associated to the Gift Card in point of sale will also be uploaded to Shopify Plus.
Download Shopify Gift Cards - (Growth [formerly Premium] and Enterprise [formerly Omni] Plans) controls whether Shopify Gift Cards will be synced TO point of sale.
Shopify Serial Prefix - (Growth [formerly Premium] and Enterprise [formerly Omni] Plans) By Default, Shopify Plus uses alphabetical serial numbers that are incompatible with Lightspeed Retail gift card serial numbers and hides these serial numbers in both the UI and the API. The Shopify Serial Prefix setting sets the first 4 digits of any auto-assigned serial in Lightspeed Retail allowing staff to easily identify synced Omni Gift Cards. Accumula also adds the last 4 characters of the Shopify Gift Card Serial to the Gift Card Notes in point of sale for confirmation.
Note: When an Online Gift Card Sale is sold and downloaded to Lightspeed Retail, the Shipping Name on the Shopify Order is attached to the Gift Card.
