On Sept 1. Lightspeed alerted Accumula and all customers that their monitoring tools recently identified unauthorized access to Lightspeed's Retail system. In this notification, Lightspeed let users know that, on August 2, 2016, Lightspeed released an upgrade to Retail’s API authentication protocol to the full implementation of OAuth 2.0.
Accumula takes security very seriously and has been using OAuth 2.0 to connect to Lightspeed since the standard was introduced 3 years ago.
What does this means for my integrations.
No action needs to be taken to upgrade your integration. Your integration is already using OAuth 2.0.
What should you do now?
For your security, Lightspeed strongly recommends that you change your Lightspeed password.
We encourage you to change your password and inform your employees to do so as well, and as always, never re-use your Lightspeed password on other sites. Instructions for changing your password can be found here.
