Magento users have the power to manage inventory in Magento using features triggered by Tags/Keywords. Feature Tags are applied to Products in Point of Sale.
Backstock
In some cases, you may want a product in Magento to allow customers to place back orders for products which are out of stock.
By placing the word "backstock" in the product tags/keywords, Accumula sets the following settings on the associated product in Magento:
- Manage Stock = Yes
- Backorders = Allow Qty below 0 and Notify Customer.
- Stock Availability = In Stock
Note: This tag should be applied to the items/products with inventory, and not to the parent matrix/configurable itself.
Important - Magento 2: Backorder functionality in Magento 2.1.6 and above may be broken due to this bug. Based on testing the Stock Status of items is automatically reverts to "Out of Stock" if the inventory QOH is 0.
Example in Lightspeed Retail
Result in Magento > Product > Inventory

Note: The product can be returned to regular stock management by removing the "backstock" tag/keyword from the product in your Point of Sale, and saving.
