Once you have completed setup for Curbside Pickup, you will want to familiarize your team with the Curbside Pickup process.
Step 1 - Curbside Pickup Alert Received
As curbside pickup orders are received, Shipstation will post an alert (both in desktop and in mobile) letting your team know that a curbside order has been received. Each Curbside Pickup order will be tagged in Shipstation and can be seen easily through a Shipstation View or Filter.
Step 2 - Pick and Pack Curbside Order
Be sure to pick, pack and send the "Ready for Pickup" notification ASAP (Step 3).
NOTE: Brands like Target and Walmart have set high expectations for pickups. The expected wait for pickup is now 2 hours or less.
Step 3 - Notify Customer Order is Ready for Pickup
A timely "Ready for Pickup" notification is critical to the customer experience. To notify a Customer that their Curbside order is ready for pickup, manually mark the order as Shipped in Shipstation. This will trigger the "Ready for Pickup" email to be sent to the Customer. You may also wish to text them, if they have included their phone number with the order.
Marking Order as "Ready for Pickup" in Shipstation
- Select the Curbside Order and Click on Other Actions > Mark as Shipped
- Send the "Ready for Pickup" notification by selecting "Other" as the Carrier, clicking "Notify Customer", and "Mark as Shipped"
NOTE: We highly recommend having a closely monitored inhouse device available to staff to send and receive text messages.
Step 4 - Customer Notifies of their Arrival
Depending on what you include in your "Ready to Pickup" notification, your customer may respond to your email or text the number you provide when they arrive. Making this easy for the customer, is paramount.
NOTE: Be sure to politely manage your instore customers and run the order out to your customer.
Step 5 - Deliver to the Curb
